Reggie Khumalo
Il est un artiste africain autodidacte, un humanitaire et un aventurier à moto qui utilise son art comme vecteur de changement social. Son travail l'appelle à briser les idées de ce qu'il connaît et l'amène continuellement à des niveaux plus profonds. Ses peintures possèdent des tons riches et des couleurs audacieuses qui donnent à son travail une forte présence. Il se concentre sur la découverte du pouvoir inné et de l'humanité en nous. Le travail de Reggie se concentre sur la connaissance de soi et l'autonomisation, et sur la façon dont les individus peuvent avoir le pouvoir d'effectuer des changements et d'autonomiser leurs communautés. Il a travaillé sur tout le continent africain à la recherche de l'esprit Ubuntu. Sa mission est de remettre l'empathie à la mode et de rendre sa dignité à l'enfant africain.
"Mes peintures sont une plateforme pour partager mon voyage avec le monde : Mon plus grand objectif est de transmettre l'amour, la paix et la grâce au spectateur, en lui offrant un sentiment de communauté, de résilience et un profond sentiment d'appartenance. J'aimerais que les gens trouvent une identité dans et à travers toutes mes œuvres."
Le voyageur
Reggie se considère comme un nomade qui se sent chez lui partout sur le continent africain. Il a voyagé du Cap au Caire à vélo pendant quatre ans.
Il reste un artiste en quête, à la recherche de l'esprit d'Ubuntu. La gentillesse des étrangers, la force des femmes, le sort des enfants et, par-dessus tout, la présence écrasante de l'humanité influencent fortement sa sensibilité et inspirent son travail.

Lorsqu'il voyage en dehors du continent africain, Reggie a toujours le désir de représenter l'Afrique et remarque l'influence de l'Afrique dans ces régions.
Philanthropie: l’art pour changer les choses
Pour Reggie, l'art n'est pas seulement un investissement, c'est aussi un vecteur de changement social.
Grâce à son art, Reggie a contribué à soutenir diverses institutions et personnes à travers le continent.
C'est ainsi qu'est née sa relation avec le Programme alimentaire mondial des Nations unies. Il est un partisan de haut niveau du PAM. Il donne de son temps et de sa voix et son mode opératoire consiste à reverser un pourcentage des recettes de ses expositions à des associations caritatives sélectionnées.
Il soutient notamment une initiative pour la jeunesse à Dodoma, une école rurale au Malawi, des étudiants au Mozambique et en Afrique du Sud, ainsi qu'un centre d'accueil pour enfants à Addis-Abeba.

He is a self taught African fine artist, humanitarian and motorbike adventurer who uses his art as a vehicle for social change.His work calls to him to break ideas of what he knows and continuously takes him to deeper levels. His paintings possess rich tones and bold colors that give his work a strong presence.His focus is on unearthing the innate power and humaneness within us. Reggie’s work focuses on self knowledge and empowerment and how individuals can have the power to effect change and empower their communities. He has worked across the African continent to seek out this spirit of Ubuntu. His mission is to make empathy fashionable again and bring dignity back to the African child.
“My paintings are a platform to share my journey with the world: My highest goal is to convey love, peace and grace to the viewer, offering a feeling of community, resilience and a deep sense of belonging. I would like people to find identity in and across all my work.”
The traveler
Reggie sees himself as a nomad who is home anywhere on the African continent. He travelled from Cape Town to Cairo on his bike for four years.
He remains an artist on a quest, in search of the spirit of Ubuntu. The kindness of strangers, the strength of women, the plight of children, and most of all, the overwhelming presence of humanity, heavily informs his sensibility and inspires his work.
“I love to experience the magic that lives in the heart of Africa, as I travel without any sort of preconceived notions.”
When he travels outside of the African continent, Reggie still has a desire to represent Africa and notices the influence of Africa in those parts.
Philanthropy : art to effect change
Art is not only an investment to him, but also a vehicle for social change.
Through his art, Reggie has helped support various institutions and individuals across the continent.
This is how his relationship with the UN’s World Food programme was ignited. He is a WFP high-level supporter. He lends his time and voice and his MO is to donate a percentage of the proceeds from his exhibitions to selected aligned charities.
Some of the initiatives include, supporting a youth initiative in Dodoma, a rural school in Malawi, students in Mozambique as well as South Africa and a children’s shelter in Addis Ababa.
